1. Residential Facilities:-
Bal Sahyog is situated in a 1.67-acre land at:- Connaught Place in the heart of
Delhi city. Since 1954 it has been providing shelter to 120 children annually
through its 5 dormitories at the Connaught Place children home. It has a well-equipped
modern kitchen to fulfill nutritional needs of the children. Food is healthy and
wholesome. There is a 8-bed dispensary and first aid center within the Bal Sahyog
campus.
2. Bal Sahyog Middle School:-
Since 1987 Bal Sahyog
is providing education to children coming from economically and socially disadvantaged
background. Bal Sahyog has a middle school at the Connaught Place Campus The Directorate
of Education has recognized the school and provides financial assistance. At present
the school has three classes from 6th to 8th standard.

Community Contact Clubs:-
Bal Sahyog has
6 Contact Clubs in Delhi. They are situated at Nangloi, Inderpuri, Wazirpur, Kotla,
Paharganj, Rithala. Recently, a community contact centre at Naharpur has been
started with financial support from Steel Authority of India Ltd. The contact
centers help in identifying the problems and needs of children and their families.
These centers provide remedial and non-formal educational support, vocational
training, health hygiene & social awareness, recreation facilities, supplimentary nutrition and medical facilities to needy children. All centers have library
facilities. Every center has an Organizer and at least one Female Educators who
provides care and protection to children and also maintains contact with their
families in the community. These centers are activity centers and children are
encouraged to participate in music, drawing, painting and essay writings. Local
festivals are celebrated with gusto and full participation.
4. Street
Children Programme:-
Since 1993 Bal Sahyog is also working with street
children. The project aims at providing integrated community based non-institutional
basic services to the under privileged children. The programme caters to protect
the rights of children involved in rag picking, begging, shoe shinning, balloon
selling and other petty works. The project is running at six contact points in
Delhi viz; Inderpuri, Kotla, Wazirpur, Pahar Ganj, Nangloi, Rithala. The programme
has been funded by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of
India, New Delhi.
5. Boat Club, India Gate:-
Any person visiting
the India Gate monument cannot miss Bal Sahyog Boat Club and its adjoining recreational
area. Boating facilities are provided to enthusiast visitors. Income generated
through boating is utilized to partially support the running programme of Bal
Sahyog.
6. Vocational Training:-
Vocational Training has been
one of the main means of mainstreaming children of Bal Sahyog. Since its inception
the task of training inmates of Bal Sahyog has been provided by the Ministry of
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. It has successfully
trained hundreds of children in trades like carpentry, scooter repairing, general
electrical and electronics, cutting and tailoring, book binding and cane craft.
7. Accredited Vocational Institute of National Institute of Open Schooling
(NIOS):-
As an accredited vocational institute regular courses of 6 months
to 1-year duration are being offered on subsidized rates. Admissions to these
courses are open round the year for candidates who fulfill basic requirements.
Some of the courses offered include cutting, tailoring & garment manufacturing,
library attendant, library assistant, library science, beautician, plumbing, carpentry,
laundry services and housekeeping.
Future Activities:-
1.
Upgrade residential accommodation for 250 boys.
2. Start a project
on Children Home for girls in the NCT region of Delhi.
3. Open an After
Care home for children who leave children home at 18 years. This will be a transitional
home for such children.
4. Strengthen rehabilitation and restoration
of children in need of care and protection.
5. Introduce new vocational
courses like early childhood care, computer education, desktop publishing and
bakery etc.
6. Open new Contact Clubs at places found appropriate,
surveyed and identified by Bal Sahyog Society .
